What role could a physiotherapist play in implementing CBR?

Physiotherapists could be directly involved in a CBR program - for example as a non-clinical, technical advisor to the project/program.

Alternatively they could provide clinical advice or services if and when indicated and sought by members of the CBR program and their recipients. This could include keeping CBR programs up to date with current rehabilitation services available, how to access them (for example, schedules, booking procedures) and any challenges the rehabilitation services are currently experiencing. Where (public sector) rehabilitation services are challenged by attitudinal, budgetary or human resource constraints, CBR programs could come into their own to lobby for change where efforts have failed by physiotherapists, in addressing issues within the public health care system.
